FAQs About Breville Barista Touch Espresso Machine

1. Does it grind beans or do I need a separate grinder?
No separate grinder needed — it includes a built-in conical burr grinder with adjustable grind size.

2. Can I make lattes and cappuccinos easily?
Yes — the automatic steam wand froths milk to your desired temperature and texture, making lattes, cappuccinos, flat whites simple.

3. How fast is the heat-up time?
Very fast — thanks to the ThermoJet heating system, the machine reaches extraction temperature in about 3 seconds. Breville+1

4. Can I customise coffee drinks (strength, milk temperature, volume)?
Yes — via the touchscreen, you can adjust grind amount, shot volume, milk texture, temperature, then save up to 8 custom drink profiles.

5. Do I get good espresso (rich flavor, crema, balanced extraction)?
Yes — many reviews highlight smooth, well-extracted espresso with nice crema, thanks to pre-infusion + stable PID temperature control.

6. Is the machine suitable for small kitchens or apartments?
Yes — its all-in-one design (grinder + boiler + steamer + water tank) saves space compared to owning separate equipment.

7. Can I use non-dairy milk?
Yes — the automatic steam wand has adjustable settings, so you can froth dairy or plant-based milks and get consistent results.

8. Is maintenance difficult?
Not particularly — daily cleaning involves drip tray, portafilter, milk wand; occasional rinse/cleaning cycles and water filter changes. Many owners find upkeep reasonable compared to manual machines.

9. Who is the Barista Touch best for?

Espresso or latte lovers who want café-style drinks at home.
People who want convenience (automatic grinding, dosing, milk steaming) over manual tuning.
Busy households or small kitchens needing an all-in-one machine.

10. Are there downsides?
Yes: some purists find the 54 mm portafilter less ideal compared to commercial 58 mm setups. The machine automates many steps — which reduces control vs manual/semi-automatic machines. And, as with any integrated-grinder machine, bean quality matters: poor beans → poor result.

If you want consistent, quality espresso and milk-based drinks at home — with minimal fuss and maximum convenience — the Breville Barista Touch Espresso Machine offers a compelling balance of automation and espresso-grade performance.
